Taiwanese consumer electronics company, HTC, has partnered with Pixiv, a Japanese 3D model company to bring anime-styled avatars for users on the metaverse. The exclusive partnership between the two is going to offer outstanding anime avatars for the HTC Metaverse platform called VIVERSE.
Anime Avatars On VIVERSE
With Pixiv being the leading social media platform for Japanese content creators, they are going to utilize their top-notch 3D software for character design called VRoid Studio into the the HTC Metaverse. Since avatars are the main attractions in the Metaverse, users get to enjoy this new and creative experience that allows them to customize themselves with different VR hair, face, body, clothes and also much more.
Joseph Lin, the President of VIVERSE has also noted that avatars in the Metaverse represents the user’s character, and thus communicating the idea of who they are to the people they meet. He also said “The partnership with Pixiv will rapidly increase the number of virtual characters on VIVERSE and meet the needs of users who prefer anime and manga styles. VIVERSE will continue introducing more unique characters and accessories in the future; with a variety of virtual avatars from reality to imaginary, a metaverse Star Trek will not be far behind.”
