Trippy Mega Mutant Bored Ape Sets The Record Sale
There hasn’t been an official announcement confirming the sale yet, but the new owner Lior.Eth confirmed it on Twitter and in a response to a tweet about the price, this is what he said, “People going wild over trade, trying to price it. You won’t find much on-chain. We valued the Mega at 2.3k ETH. Trade included various assets.”
The Value of Mutant Ape
There are various reasons for its value besides just the visual appeal. First of all, it is perhaps the most extraordinary looking Ape in existence. With Trippy fur that seems liquid and also escaping from the Mutant Ape, it is a bizarre but very unique NFT.
More importantly, the existence of Mutant Ape is thanks to the use of a very rare Mega Serum.
February, Original holder of the Trippy Mega Mutant Ape #30005 @0xb1 created the mutant using one of the last remaining M3 serums.
Mega Serum Regarded As Holy Grail Of NFT Space
Bored Ape Yacht Club airdropped an NFT called Bored Ape Chemistry Club to its NFT holders in August 2021. A total of 10,000 were airdropped, and these NFTs had a serum made to transform your Bored Ape.
M1 is the most common serum of them all and there wre roughly 7,500 of these with a further M2 serum of 2,492 and these M1 and M2 transforms the Bored Ape but it retains some original traits.
However, M3 serum or also known as Mega serum, completely and unpredictably transforms a Bored Ape. Only 8 M3 serums exist and now only one remains unburnt. The sale of the M3 serum was a whopping 1,542.069 ETH which in January equates to $5.8 million! To catch the latest NFT news, follow NFTeller for more.
