Gucci just announced that they are now accepting the BAYC token, ApeCoin and this is thanks to their partnership with BitPay. The news confirms that Gucci will become the first store to ever accept ApeCoin as a payment. As of right now, this is only available in the US for their customers in selected stores. Gucci now has 10 Cryptocurrency that it accepts, this includes Bitcoin, Ethereum and others as well. This is a huge moment for the native currency of the Bored Ape Yacht Club.
ApeCoin Users Can Now Spend Token At Gucci
Gucci has confirmed this news on twitter to their 6.8 million followers and this was what it says, “Now accepting @ApeCoin payments via @BitPay, select Gucci boutiques in the USA expand the range of cryptocurrencies available for in-store purchases, yet another step in the House’s exploration of Web3”.
Gucci has been working hard for some time to adopt the Web3 world in. In recent months, they have been working on a metaverse space Roblox and having a deal with superRare and its own NFT collection.
ApeCoin is Growing
Right now since Gucci is accepting the ApeCoin in its stores, it marks a very significant milestone for ApeCoin. It also offers legitimacy and confidence that money is not able to buy. Now it will be interesting to see who or which luxury brand will follow suit to also accept ApeCoin as their currency as well.
What’s more is that the BAYC coin has just been made available since the end of February. It is an amazing feat to see it getting support from huge fashion house like Gucci and it will be a bright future ahead. For more trending NFT news, follow NFTeller.
