Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars Stolen NFTs at GutterCon

An NFT holder had a horrible weekend at GutterCon, the Gutter Cat Gang’s conference. NFTs worth hundreds of thousands of dollars were stolen by an unidentified hacker. A Bored Ape NFT, Mutant Ape, Doodles, RTFKT, Sappy Seals, Lazy Lions, and Gutter Cat Gang NFT were stolen from the victim @denniswbielik as a result of the hack.

Hacker Steals Valuable NFTs

It is never pleasant to see a case of NFTs being stolen. In this instance, the @denniswbielik hack cost him $100,000 worth of them, including a few high-profile NFTs from the Gutter Cat Gang, RTFKT, and Bored Ape Yacht Club.

This occurred at the Gutter Cat Gang’s GutterCon event this past weekend. They claim that despite their phone being off, the attack nonetheless took place. In addition, even when they were sleeping, @denniswbielik, a.k.a. REPLY GUY, had the phone close by. Unfortunately, @denniswbielik did not use a hardware wallet like Ledger; instead, he kept his NFTs in MetaMask.

One user questioned the initial purpose of the NFTs being in a hot wallet. @denniswbielik responded, “Honestly, I hadn’t changed it to my other wallet yet and was just pumped about GutterCon forgetting to do it before.”

@denniswbielik has now reported a crime to the Las Vegas Police Department. Many individuals are making assumptions about how this attack might have occurred. In fact, a developer friend of @denniswbielik hypothesized that the hacker might have targeted a TAGHeuer watch. To display NFTs, the specific watch model can link to MetaMask.

About GutterCon

The Gutter Cat Gang’s response to a conference that all of its holders could attend was GutterCon. A rendezvous, paintball, speedway, spa day, dinner, and a “surprise event” were all part of the event. There was also the iHeartRadio Music Festival in addition to this.

Fans were dancing all night long at several of the various events, as would be anticipated in Vegas.

The weekend’s festivities have definitely been soured by the stolen NFTs from @denniswbielik, despite the fact that the event generally appeared to be a joyful community gathering.
