Toys R Us has brought its newest batch of digital assets to Solana, one year after the release of its first NFT collection! Last night, the toy maker tweeted to announce the drop via its official NFT account. Can NFTs give the business the boost it needs to set the direction for the future? Let’s investigate!
What Does The Latest Toys R Us NFT Collection Offer?
There hasn’t yet been any information released on drop dates, number of collectibles, price, or other specifics. The most recent Toys R Us Solana NFTs commemorated the birthday of the store’s mascot, Geoffrey the Giraffe. Only “Hello Solana” tweet was posted on their official NFT account.
Additionally, we are aware that Toys R Us and Anybody’s NFT collaborated to bring us the NFT collection. A digital fashion company called Anybodies creates web3 experiences. Their official account posted “We’re so pleased to be joining the Solana community!” in addition to the announcement tweet. However, this is the company’s first foray into Solana while having previously released NFTs on other ecosystems. A digital Toys R Us apparel line along with other cool items does not seem like a horrible concept, but our guess is just as good as yours.
We were also provided with a photo of Geoffrey the Giraffe enjoying his birthday via the twitter tweet. The graphic shows a gift-wrapped letter “R” alongside other characters. Additionally, the enigmatic post contained no other information.
About Toys R Us
A major retailer of children’s apparel and toys in America is called Toys R Us. The company was established in 1948 and has a long history of nostalgia in American subculture. The brand changed direction in order to catch up with modern generational trends after filing for bankruptcy in 2018. Since then, the company has seen the potential of web3 and has cancelled a number of NFT initiatives to highlight their forward-thinking philosophy.
